Hound Hell Ch.1

  One day the gang decided it would be nice to get away from civilization for a little while. (gang as in Fury, Shadow, Silver, Knuckles, and Moonnight)
So they flew to the secluded island west of prison island. Here was where Fury and Moon had spent most of there childhood together
seeing as they were brother and sister. Fury flew them there. "well here we are" said Fury. "Brings back memories eh sis?" "ya....... it sure does" Moon breathed a long
sigh. Shadow:"wow........ this place is amazing." she stared in awe at the wooden cavern. Knuckles unloaded the plane with Silvers help. They all walked in to find a beautiful
cozy place. Fury:"Well....... we're home." Shadow kissed her ebony lover and said "I love it". Fury:"not as much as I love you." Shadow blushed and kissed
him once more before Moon began to tease them. Moon:"awwwwww, how cute!!!!!" Fury shot her the bird.

That night they all sat outside around a fire. Shadow was leaning against her ebony partner while Knux and Silver were roasting marshmellows. Moon was practicing with
her bow and arrows. After a while they heard a rustle from the bushes. Everyone tensed. Out stepped a small black and tan german shepard pup. Silver awwwwwed
and scooped the pup up in his arms. Shadow:"I thought we were the only ones here." Fury:" He can't be more than 8 weeks old. Someone must have left him here."
Knux:"But nobody's been here for ages" Fury examined the pup. Fury:"He looks healthy. Well fed too." Later they all went inside bringing the pup with them.
Knux went in the kitchen fixing himself a sandwich. The shepard pup sat there, head tilted to one side with one ear floped over. Knux:"Oh no. That cute crap
don't work on me. Besides I'm more of a cat person anyway" At that the pup started to growl intensly. Knux ran back in the living room with the others.
Knux:"Dude that little thing is evil. All I said was I'm more of a cat person and the little shit growled at me." Silver:"Well mabye he took that offensevly."
Fury:" Silver that's ridiculous. dogs can't understand us." Sudenly the pup ran outside. Silver:"awwwwww you made him go away." Moon:"do you want to go look for him?"
Silver nodded. With that they walked outside with flashlights. Silver called franticly for the pup. They finally found him sitting in the bushes. Silver reached out towards
the pup only to be attacked by a tan blur. Moon was knocked off her feet and sent flying. Silver found himself pinned down by a large tan shepard dog. Snarling viciously
with yellow fangs bared, the dog never lost eye contact with Silver. Moon lay there watching in disbelief, frozen with fear. Finally Moon slowly moved forward,
the dog broke eye contact with Silver only to watch Moon advance forward. With one last glare at the silver hedgehog he turned to flee, but before doing so he
bit his leg, as if to leave a reminder. Moon ran to Silver and picked him up while Silver cried and repeatedly murmured "He bit me......... he bit me."

Inside Fury treated Silvers wound. Fury:"You said he just attacked you??? Out of nowhere?" Silver nodded. Fury:"Mabye he was just trying to protect his young"
Moon:"Hey Fury. Don't you remember that old dog training facility just north of here?" Fury:"Ya, why?" Moon:"Didn't they say that the dogs all died up there,
cause of some disease?" Fury:"Ya. One of the dogs got infected with rabies and it spread through the facility infecting all the dogs. So, they had to put them
all down." Moon:"Is it possible some of the dogs survived?" Fury:" Possibly, but even if they did they would have died by now." Knux:"So you're tellin me that
he might have rabies??? Wonderful." Fury:" Silver doesn't have rabies nor will he get them. But the rules say you should have any unidentified animal bite treated
just in case." Shadow:"Soooooo... we have to leave?" Fury:" *sigh* not nessecarily. If you have a shot in at least a week you'll be fine. Do you think you'll be ok?"
Silver:"Yaaaaa I'll be fine." Everyone decided to go to bed.

Knux woke up in the middle of the night thirsty. He went into the kitchen and grabbed a coke from the fridge. When he closed the fridge door he spotted Silver starring
out the window watching the rain. Knux walked closer to him. Knux:"What are you doing up so late?" Silver:"couldn't sleep." Silver turned around to face Knuckles.
Silver:"Get out" Silver had seemed out of it ever since the dog bite. He had been feeling........... strange.

That morning Fury, Moon, and Knuckles decided it would be nice to go explore. Moon brought her bow so she could do some target practice, with animals of course.
They hiked along a trail that Fury and Moon had used many a time before. Knux sat on a log where he re-tied his shoe. Moon and Fury were a little ways off.
He tied his shoe and froze. He had gotten a parinoid feeling that he wasn't alone. He slowly turned around and there was nothing there. He turned back around to
face a large black dog. Knux:"nice doggy...... good doggy." He turned to flee only to see another large dog. Dogs slowly started to surround him. He ran off yelling wildly
secrely being followed by the hounds. He caught up with Moon and Fury. Knux:"Guys, guys there are lots of dogs back there. Mean looking big dogs!!!"
Fury:"Calm down Knux." Suddenly a blood covered hedgehog popped up out of nowhere. He looked as if he had been torn and ripped apart. His fur was matted
and he looked as if he hadn't eaten in weeks. He had many wounds, there were some parts of his body where the flesh had literaly been ripped off. His ear, his tail, and 3 of
his fingers missing. He had hold of a thick stick. They stared in horror and shock. Hedgehog:"Leave now. They don't want you here" At that moment the hedgehog was attacked by a giant black and
grey hound. He was on the forest floor wriggling as much as he could desperatly trying to free his arm of the dog's powerful jaws. Then the other dogs came ripping
and tearing at whatever part of the hedgehog they could grab hold of. The hedgehog lay there desperatly attempting to free himself of the jaws of the hounds,
but he could do nothing. He lay there crying, screaming in pain as the dogs ripped and yanked at his limbs. Moon took her bow in her hand. Fury grabbed her and pulled
her back, Moon tried to struggle free. Moon:"We have to help him!!!!!!" Fury:"It's to late!!! We have to get back and warn Shadow and Silver!!!!" They rushed back
not knowing they had company with them.

Shadow and Silver were swimming in the river, just as they got out they saw the others running as fast as they could in the distance. They started yelling franticly
"GET IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!" The two hedgehogs were confused. Then they saw the pack of large hounds racing after them. Horrified they ran up to the house quickly.
Everyone rushed inside. Shadow was racing up the steps fast as she could, but the dog was quicker. The hound snapped his jaws around Shadow's ankle causing her to fall.
The powerful hound tried to drag Shadow off but Fury held onto her arms. Shadow tried to kick the dog but nothing worked. Moon raised her bow aiming for the dogs head.
Fury leaned back as he realized what his sister was about to do. Moon shot the arrow, but the dog moved with incredible speed jumping out of the arrow's
path. The arrow, instead of hitting the dog, went clean through Shadow's leg. Shadow threw her head back and screamed with pain. Moon frowned, the dog had run off
but more were on the way. They hauled Shadow inside. Moon ran to the door slamming it in the face of several hounds.

Inside Fury treated Shadow. He cut off one end of the arrow with some pliers and grabbed the other end preparing to pull it out.Shadow:"This will be fun" Fury
hesitated. He didn't want to hurt the black hedgehog, he was kinda scared to do it. He grabbed it firmly and quickly yanked it out earning a painful scream from his lover.
Fury quickly treated it with medicine and wrapped it up. Moon walked over to Shadow. Moon:"Hey I'm really really sorry." Shadow:"It's ok Moon. That shot could've
saved my life." Suddenly a dog came crashing through the window. The dog stood up growling viciously and turned to face Silver. The dog instantly stopped growling.
The dog and Silver stared at each other intensly, one's gaze not leaving the other's. It was as if they were having a staring contest. Finally the hound leaped and
attacked Silver. Knuckles pulled the dog of him and held the dog down. Fury grabbed the arrow that had impailed Shadow's leg and stabbed it into the head of the
large hound. The dog yelped in pain and instantly grew limp. Fury and Moon wrapped the dead dog's body in a blanket and tossed it outside. They went back inside and
watched as other dogs came and examined the body of their fallen alli. Instantly they began to rip the corpse apart in a feasting frenzy.

Later that day they nailed peices of a gate to the windows, to prevent any more dogs from getting in. The day went by slowly. Finnaly it was nighttime and
everyone was up, wondering if they would live to see the next day. Then the power went out. Knux sighed Knux:"I'll fix it, seeing as I know where the fuse box is."
He went down into the basement with a flashlight. He walked over to the fuse box and changed the fuse. The power came back on and Knuckles laughed with satisfaction.
But it didn't last for long. The power turned back off. He grunted frowned. Just then he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A large cloth that hung from a string.
But there was a slight breeze coming out of it. He pulled the cloth back to reveal a large square hole with wires strung through it. But the wires had been bitten through.
Knuckles heard growling come from the hole. Knux backed away from the square hole only to be jumped by a dog.
